February 2018 update

February 28, 2018 by Stephen Nichols

I’ve taken down part of a ceiling following a roof leak at St Catherine’s Church hall, Mile Cross, and am awaiting repair of the box gutter by a specialist firm before replacing the ceiling.

A day off for my wife’s birthday saw us have a great walk to see the seals at Horsey, before a hearty lunch at Banningham Crown.

Having fitted new worktops to a kitchen in Wooll Drive, North Walsham, in December last year, the client called me back as she had decided to replace the whole kitchen, re-using the new worktops, getting in more units for storage, altering the electrics, and finishing off with glazed wall tiles.

I’ve also extended an existing kitchen at Peter Pulling Drive, Queens Hill, by fitting an oven tower and pull out larder units with additional base/wall units and worktops to match.

Business remains brisk, and I’ve had so many recent enquiries that I’m going to be unable to take them all on  as I’m currently booked up for March, April, and now taking bookings into May.

January 2018 update

February 5, 2018 by Stephen Nichols

A rather belated Happy New Year to all my clients, old and new. It seems as if Christmas has only just passed and suddenly we’re already into February – how did that happen?!

I was able to make up and fit new wardrobes for Mr & Mrs Room in Crow Road, North Walsham, just before Christmas, and then I fitted some additional shelves for them in early January.

I’ve replaced rotten windows and door frames with some lovely UPVC – anthracite grey exterior on white interior windows, door and French doors, for Dr & Mrs Isitt in Erpingham. Probably need to sort out the render in the spring – awaiting clients’ opinion.

I’ve also fitted a new kitchen in Beechbank, Unthank Road, for Mr & Mrs Sykes.

I’ve been busy pricing up a number of projects that I hope will come to fruition, and if they all do, then the next few months will be very busy indeed.

Oh yes, and I finished tiling the bathrooms at home, making the wife very happy 😉

December update

December 19, 2017 by Stephen Nichols

Whilst the month of December 2017 has been absolutely as busy as the rest of my year, the most important thing is for me to thank my clients for their custom and to wish everyone reading this blog a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Here is this year’s Christmas card – someone with a great sense of humour has added a little something to an existing road sign just outside Bacton Woods near North Walsham (and no, it wasn’t me!)

November update

December 13, 2017 by Stephen Nichols

Since October’s post I have been very busy completing the following works:-

  • decorating following dormer window works at Cere Road
  • formation of a built in cupboard to bedroom alcove on Reepham Road
  • fitting a bathroom door, lining, and architrave on Purland Road

I’ve also completed a lot of work for a Norwich bathroom & kitchen company, including:-

  • taking up floors, preparing them with insulation and latex, at Blo Norton (Diss)
  • studwork and floors to 2nd floor flat on Newmarket Road
  • fit oak door complete to bathroom in Frettenham
  • cut out and fit Velux roof light to bedroom in Caister St Edmunds
  • making good to large kitchen/diner and utility room floors: latex, then tile complicated pattern and finally grout and polish up –  at Wacton

December looks like another busy month, with my web site having generated a lot of local enquiries, several of which have turned into booked and confirmed work.

The wife has asked if I can finish some of the jobs at home instead of a Christmas present – I’ve had a word with Santa, and we shall see!

October update

October 24, 2017 by Stephen Nichols

My last jobs at the extension in Sprowston for Mr & Mrs Butler were fitting skirtings and architraves; the project is now completely finished and looking great.

I have also been taking up and refixing floorboards to landings in Beechbank.

Other works completed (for a Norwich bathroom and kitchen company) include:-

A brick pier, studwork and plasterboarding complete the steelwork and associated works at Stan Petersen Close.

I’ve stripped out a kitchen and bathroom and created an en suite bathroom at a barn conversion in Clippesby.

Fitting a velux roof window to a bathroom in Langham.

I’ve also fitted a UPVC window into the rear wall of the Honda garage in Norwich  to give natural light into their staff room.
